IN THE REARVIEW

WHATS THE STORY?

I find that people often look for messages in obvious places, and assume that the front or forward-facing side of something best represents its story. With In The Rearview I aim to debunk this theory with the example of car stickers. While you may be able to see the person driving through the front of the car, you don't know anything about them. When you look at the back of the car, however, you can get a glimpse of their personality, interests, heritage, political views, and more.

I shot this series on 35mm film, which I developed myself, and printed at 8x10" in a traditional darkroom. The images you see here are scans of the original prints, and are unedited to preserve the imperfections of the process.
